Marinette Dupen-Cheng knew for a fact that ghosts were real. The first time she saw a ghost was one night when she was up late working on a design for famed rock star, Jagged Stone. From what she could remember, the ghost had died from black cholera back in the 1880s and was the wife of a successful businessman.
Flashback:
Marinette was busy drawing in her sketchbook. Apparently, Jagged Stone had suggested a new outfit design for his upcoming concert which meant that she of all people had the honor of doing this. She stared at her clock and groaned. Midnight already?
Marinette sighed as she closed her book and made her way to her bed, hoping to probably get a good night’s rest, so she could get back to work tomorrow.
Suddenly, a pair of hands touched her shoulder which made her jump. Marinette turned and gasped in fear upon seeing a horrifying looking black ghost staring at her.
“When the time comes, beware of Noir Manor.” The ghost warned her before disappearing.
Marinette let out a scream as she clutched her head and collapsed onto her knees…
End of Flashback
It would be some years later when she heard that warning again or understood what it meant, but she only found out the true meaning when it was too late…
